Engineering Leader

The Opportunity

At  Sesh , we believe better meetings lead to a better day at work.

We know how much time is spent, and often wasted, in meeting after meeting. (Hint: It's a lot).

And we're dedicated to transforming meetings to stay on track, be more engaging and inclusive, and to achieve your goals. These are the keys to better meetings, which in turn lead to smaller and fewer meetings, and more time for everything else.

We're backed by several top tier SV investors.

Sesh is a launch partner on the new  Zoom Apps marketplace .

Our Values

We value your time.
We want to live rich, full lives and that means doing great work and still having space for all the other wonderful stuff in life.

We create a positive work environment.
Everyone should feel valued and included so we can all be productive and do work that makes us proud. We should be laughing often.

Our company is a force for good in the world.
When we succeed, people will have better days at work and fulfill their own missions.

Responsibilities

You'll manage 1-2 engineers now, and spend >70% of your time engineering. As the company grows, this ratio will shift and you'll step more into leadership and focus on building the team.
You'll report directly to the CEO.
You're excited to mentor as well as learn.
You can foster a healthy engineering environment.
You thrive interacting with people as well as code.
Work across the stack (frontend, backend) to deliver great products. Expertise in some areas and unfamiliarly in others is okay. You should be comfortable learning + adapting. Mostly you should enjoy making software that helps our customers.

Engineering Philosophy

Proactive and comfortable in a small startup environment. That means if something doesn't look right, fix it. If documentation would be helpful, add it. If a script would make this better, write it. We all own this together.
Passion for the product. Commitment to delivering a well-crafted product creates a special kind of team dynamic and a unique output. We all need to be invested in our mission, and care about how we're fulfilling that with a product.
Collaboration + communication. Let's be honest, in this industry (and almost all industries), it always comes down to the people. This is why "soft skills" are really "core skills". Being able to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly are paramount for us.

Current Stack

Javascript (Svelte), Golang, Docker, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform. Experience not required with these exact tools, but you should feel comfortable learning and diving in.

Experience

6+ years building awesome stuff, with at least 2 years in management/leadership.
Nice to haves:
Deep Golang experience
Experience in a startup environment
Can wear a Product Manager hat

Compensation

+ Market salary + generous equity
+ Great benefits, family leave policy, and more.

Location

Remote (Pacific Timezone)
We may have a satellite office in SF/East Bay at some post post-pandemic, but it's not required to live here. We'll have periodic off-sites together in different locations.
